Alma's Flight
A picture of the monument in Union Square. Dedicated in 1903, the column features the bronze goddess Victory, modeled after gorgeous Alma de Bretteville Spreckels. Alma had a colorful history, including a career in art, risque modeling and heiress to the massive fortune of sugar baron Adolph Spreckels.
